Mattie Bell Higgins was born on December 10, 1940 to Elnora Johnson and Alvis Tidwell in Newport, Arkansas.
Mattie departed this life October 26, 2009. One sister and two brothers preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Betty Montgomery and Shirley Harris; two sisters, Lena Walls of Chicago, Illinois and Lorene Lacy of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother, Allve Tidwell of Arkansas; two sisters-in-law, Rose Lee Tidwell and Louise Tidwell of St. Louis, MO; two sons-in-law Charles Oliver and Antonio Bradley of St. Louis, Missouri; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
