Hattie M. Baldwin passed away at the age of 69 on October 23, 2009. She was born on July 9, 1940 in Portageville, Missouri to the union of Mr. William and Mamie Ruth Hood, Sr.
She was the first of two children born to this union. The union of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick and Mamie Douglas produced five siblings and the union of Mr. and Mrs. William Hood, Sr. produced five siblings of which two are now deceased. Mr. William Hood, Sr. and Mr. Frederick Douglas are now deceased.
Hattie attended the St. Louis Public Schools. She worked as an elevator operator for a major department store in the St. Louis area. Hattie met and married Bobby Joe Baldwin who was the love of her life. Bobby preceded her in death.
Hattie was a member of Faith Unity Center until her death. Hattie loved to laugh and have fun. She always had a smile and if she didn't you was in trouble. She loved watching her favorite television programs at home. Hattie loved her mother dearly referring to her as "Ma Dear". They loved going shopping together. They were like sisters and best friends. Hattie loved being with her family. She did not have any children, but was blessed with two brothers, nine sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
She leaves to cherish her memories: mother, Mamie Ruth Douglas; two brothers, William Jr. and Matthew; seven sisters, Ruthie, Linda, Sally, Cheri, Dianne, Angelene and Deborah; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
