Valerie Jean McNeal was born November 22, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri to Erline and Eudgleteen Waller. She was the oldest of four children born to this union. Valerie was baptized at Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri in 1966. She graduated from Sumner High School went on to attend St. Louis University and later graduated from the University of Phoenix with a degree in Computer Science.
On August 9, 1975, Valerie married her high school sweetheart, Victor L. McNeal. To this union two children were born – Victor Jr. and Venia J'neane.
Recently retired, Valerie enjoyed a 24 year career with the United States government where she worked at the Page Record Center as a Computer Analyst. She was an active member of the Blacks in Government Organization, (B.I.G.) Gateway Chapter, Region 7, and dedicated her time and commitment to the organization by coordinating fundraising events, conferences, and various social activities. Valerie served as chapter President for several years. She was also Regional Secretary, National Hospitality Coordinator and a training facilitator. Additionally Valerie was a very active member of the American Federation of Government Employees, Local 900 as well as the Civilian Welfare Fund. She also volunteered as a mentor through the Human Resources Command mentoring program.
Valerie loved to travel, and she was especially known for her creative talents which included sewing, cooking and interior decorating. She especially enjoyed planning and coordinating special events for her family and friends. She was a loving mother and wife, a wonderful sister, a devoted daughter and a warm and nurturing aunt.
Although deeply saddened by the sudden loss of our dear Valerie, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is finally resting in peace. She leaves to cherish her memorable spirit husband, Victor, children: Victor Jr. and Venia, Mother Erline, brother, Arthur (Joyce), sisters, Pat (Tommie) and Cheryl (Dr. F James Clark) and in-laws Harold (Marion), Sandra, Arthelda, Eric (Kalyn), mother in-law, Virgie McNeal, and a host of nieces and nephews: Terrence (Michelle), Anthony (Simone), Michelle, Jason (Nora), Kelli, Candance, Arthur, Jr., Naeemah, Celeste, Toni Marie, Jasmine, Jamaine, James, Harold Jr., Sandra Nicole, William, Joseph (Tamara), Kareen, Ryan, Charles, Caleb, Katelyn, Taira, and Antonio James.
