The earthly journey of Julius Kenneth Collins III, known as "J.T." began on April 13, 1978 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Shirley and Julius Collins, Jr.
PHASE I J.T. was educated in the Riverview Gardens School System. While attending Riverview Gardens School he actively participated in many activities. He was an avid participant of all sports. He played on Freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity Football and Baseball teams. Also, he was a great lover of basketball, all in which he continued to play. He played an active part in the music department, as he was in the concert choir and gospel choirs. After graduation, he became minister of music and director for Riverview Gardens gospel choirs. Some members of this gospel choir became initial member of J.T. & Rebirth.
PHASE II J.T. confessed Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age at Christ Temple Church of Christ (Holiness) USA. In 2000, J.T. became a member of Communion Church Ministries. There he served as praise team leader. J.T.'s music ministry touched the lives of the entire metropolitan St. Louis area and across the country. J.T. was the founder of J.T. & Rebirth.
J.T. & Rebirth's first CD is titled "A Live Rebirth Experience" and the second recording was dated to be October 23, 2009 entitled "In His Presence."
PHASE III J.T. married the love of his life, Waukeyta Ellis, on July 1, 2000. They spent all of their time together. They shared the employment workplace several times for many years and sang together in the ministry of J.T. & Rebirth. J.T. and Waukeyta shared their love with several foster children and godchildren.
PHASE IV J.T. was employed by T-Mobile due in part to his love of electronic gadgets. He was also employed by Riverview Gardens School District LIFT program. Presently, he was employed by St. Louis Public School System as a Library/Media Aide, ironically, he was voted in his high school senior superlative as most likely to become a Librarian.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife, Waukeyta Collins; mother, Shirley Collins; father, Julius (Ruth) Collins, Jr.; mother-in-law, Winnetta Ellis; one sister, JaiJuan (Corey) Whitehead; one brother, Justin Collins; one brother-in-law, Martin (LaRonda) Ellis; grandmother, Ella Mae Wilson; Rebirth, DeAngelo, Hernandez, and Tiffany; nephews, Koren, Martin III, Marquise, and Byron; nieces, Jalysa, Jayla, Kamora, Matrice, Marnae, Remani, and Zipporah; godchildren, Annie, Kierra, Kianna, Elijah, Israel, Terrell, Tredina, Kayla, Manny and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, church family, and friends.
