Reginald Earl Harris, Sr. was born July 9, 1960. He was the only child born to Robert and Pearl Harris; his father preceded him in death.
He confessed a hope in Christ at the age of 11 and was baptized at Prince of Peace M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. W.B. Rouse. Recently he reinstated his membership under the leadership of Pastor Willie E. Kilpatrick.
Reggie received his formal education in the St. Louis Public Schools and graduated from Beaumont High School in 1978. He served in the United States Navy. He also received a certificate of diploma from Brown's Business School and later graduated from Tarkio College majoring in Broadcasting and Journalism.
In 1989, Reggie became a Custodial Engineer for the St. Louis Public School System. He joined the Normandy School District in 2004 and was currently employed in a management position.
Reggie was a former member of the Lone Star Lodge #2 Prince Hall (Mason Affiliated). Passionate about his community, he played an active role and served as an advocate for the 21st Ward during the Flood of 1998.
On April 25, 1986, Reggie became the proud father of Reginald Earl Harris, Jr. On June 15, 1991 he united in Holy Matrimony to Pamela D. McIntyre. To this union, Ametra Pernee' Harris was born.
Reggie cherished his role as a father dearly, not only for his children but also for many young men needing and wanting a father figure on the Beaumont Varsity Boys Basketball Team along with Coach Richard "Bird" Hamilton.
Reggie enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a people's person and enjoyed all of his family, referring to them as "my people."
He departed this side of life on Saturday October 10, 2009 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Reggie leaves to cherish his memories: his loving mother, Pearl Harris; a son Reginald, Jr. and daughter Ametra Pernee'; four uncles, Allen Kyles of Buchannon, MI; Johnson Kyles of St. Louis, MO; Clenzie Kyles of Benton Harbor, MI: Kittrell (Rachel) Kyles of Memphis, TN; five aunts, Janie Woodridge, Catherine (James) Lloyd, Pauline Johnson, Ernestyne Brown and Maxine Hughey all of St. Louis, MO: a special friend, Tracy Mitchell and family; a childhood friend (God-brother) Robert Monger, Jr.; a host of cousins and friends.
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV
